I thought I’d just share this confession and get it off my chest.

At work, a couple of weeks ago, I signed someone’s farewell card. It was a beautiful card and I was one of the first to sign it. I started writing in the top left hand corner when I got distracted by someone asking me a question. When I continued I soon realised that what I’d written made no sense. I attempted to rectify it and only made matters worse. I scribbled words out and tried adding others. I had pretty much trashed the top corner of this lovely card. It looked like a dog’s breakfast.

I panicked. I didn’t know what to do. So I looked around to check the coast was clear and when no one was looking I signed it with the name ‘Dave’ the walked away quickly.

Today we all went to some local lakes that have steam trains travelling around them.

Darrah and Blake’s Nan, Grandad, Auntie, Uncle, Niece and Nephew all came along. The boys are still obsessed with ‘Thomas the Tank Engine’ so any opportunity to see or ride on a steam train is always a winner.

Another weekend and another Birthday party. Today was Theo’s Birthday party.

I hope they sleep well after this.

We often receive pictures from nursery that the boys have created and that require an explanation of what they are supposed to be.

But they are not the only ones who produce abstract art. Artistic Mummy had a go at drawing an animal. Darrah clearly looked confused until she explained what it was.

It’s a lion. Possibly genetically modified.

Boys will be boys.

Both Darrah and Blake are getting on famously. In the past they have always got on really well but now they are starting to really look out for each other and they are starting to have meaningful conversations.

Everyday, after we bring them home from nursery, they run around the house and garden chasing each other. They fetch each other books and toys, take food to one another, and spend a lot of time wrestling on the floor until Mummy or Daddy pulls them apart and puts a stop to it.

It’s great seeing them get along but sometimes the noise can drive us nuts.
